American are taller than British with a leaner appearance. And Canadians like Hockey....j/k! Canadian Goldens have a thinner coat and are the tallest of the 3 types
- Golden Retrievers ranked 4th in dog intelligence in one major study focused on obedience and command training
- The Golden Retriever breed as we know it today originated in Scotland in the mid 1800s. The breeds that were part of that cross were the Standard Retriever and a Tweed Water Spaniel
- The two dogs originally bred to "make" the first Golden were named Belle and Nous
